The 2011 red snapper season will open June 1, 2011 and run through July 18, 2011. Give us a call to schedule a great trip to harvest some great eating fish!!!

Welcome:
Are you looking for fun, excitement and fishing? Come and enjoy a Gulf of Mexico fishing adventure aboard the smooth riding and stable "Circle Hook", a 26 ft. center console Glacier Bay power catamaran with twin 130hp Honda outboard motors, departing out of Freeport, Texas. You can fish for the many species of saltwater fish available in the Galveston and Freeport Texas near shore and offshore waters: Red Snapper, Shark, Redfish, King Mackerel, Dorado (Mahi-Mahi), Cobia (Ling), Grouper, Amber Jack, Bonito, Wahoo, and many more. One of the most exciting aspects of deep-sea fishing on the Texas Gulf Coast is not knowing what you may see or catch next. We bottom fish, drift and troll oil rigs, wrecks, rocks, weed lines, current breaks, shrimp boats, and other types of structure and cover found in the northern Gulf of Mexico. There are good opportunities to see porpoise, turtles, rays, and various other types of sea creatures. Keep your eyes open for the next exciting encounter. If you are looking for an great time and good fishing on the Gulf of Mexico, you have found the right place!

The Captain:

Although Captain Dave is not a Texas native, he is a very experienced fisherman. After fishing the Great Lakes for salmon, steelhead, lake trout, brown trout and walleye for over 20 years he came to the Texas Gulf Coast in 1999 and has learned how to find and catch many species of hard fighting saltwater fish found in the area. He is U.S.C.G. licensed and is focused on your fun and safety while on your trip.

The "Circle Hook" is a 26 ft. Glacier Bay power catamaran. These boats are known to be one of the smoothest riding and most stable boats for fishing the Gulf of Mexico. The twin 130 HP Honda four stroke outboard motors are very reliable, quiet and do not create gas fumes and odors. The cruising speed is around 25 mph in most water conditions. The "Circle Hook" is equipped with GPS, Fish Finder, Radar, VHF radio and Epirb for safety and the ability to find the structure holding fish. There are 2 large insulated fish boxes to keep your catch fresh and a private portapotty in the center console, if needed. Beanbags are available to make your ride very comfortable. Be careful, they are so comfortable you can easily fall asleep and miss some of the great sights on the gulf.

The Charter Trips:
Near shore trips are within 9 miles of shore: Full day trips typically depart at 6:30 AM and return to dock around 4:00 - 5:00 PM. Half day trip start time can be customized to accommodate, due to shorter travel time, and last approximately 5 Hr. Near shore trips require less travel time but offer more limited species. We fish for bull redfish, kingfish, sharks, cobia, triple tail, and tarpon are possible.

Offshore trips typically travel 20 to 40 miles out of port: full day trips depart at 6:30 AM and return to the dock around 4:00 - 5:00 PM. Fish targeted are red snapper, kingfish, cobia, grouper, Dorado, and sharks. You never know what might bite when bottom fishing or trolling structure while deep-sea fishing the Gulf of Mexico.

Blue water trips typically travel 40 to 80 miles out of port: full day trips depart at 6:30 AM and return to the dock around 5:30 - 6:30 PM. Blue water fishing requires more travel time, but the species available and the beauty of the cobalt blue, crystal clear water can be worth it. In addition to the offshore species mentioned, wahoo, amberjack, and tuna are possibilities.

Contact Capt. Dave the day before your schedule trip to confirm departure time and location.
